WELCOME TO INDIA by Aitor

 India is famous for its exotic palaces, its colourful clothes, its spicy food and its sacred cows.

The Taj Mahal:

The Taj Mahal was built in the 1,600s. This was a mausoleum for the emperor´s favourite wife. There were 20,000 people working on it. It took 22 years to build it.

The Sari:

The "Sari" is a traditional dress for women in India. The Sari is a very long piece of material. Sari is for especial occasions; they are often decorated with embroidery or tiny mirrors.



Cricket:

The cricket is a national sport of India. British people introduced the cricket in India and India is one of the few countries in the word where cricket is popular.

School:

Children wear school uniform. They speak English and Hindi, India's official language. In India there are over one million schools. In India most children go to school, at least, until they are 14 years old.

Sacred cow:

The cow in India is a sacred animal because of the Hindu religion.
In Hindu religion they respect cows and dont't eat beef. Cows are the symbol of abundance.

Ganesh is a god of India's religion ( Hindu ). He has got an elephant trunk, big ears and a fat stomach. He is a god of good fortune, education, wealth and wisdom. Most people in India are Hindi
